R. There's a proper software (if you don't have it, click HERE to download it ) to get the square from the WW Locator, or from the geographical co-ordinates, or even on inserting the name of the QTH. The data-base contains about 28.800 italian places: cities, town, villages, also main islands and reefs.
D. And if on the QSL card there's no Locator, no geo co-ords no place?
R. Sorry, the QSL card is not good for WAIS Award.
D. If I use different calls, may I use all QSL cards for the Award?
R. The Award is issued to one call, so, if you use another call, e.g. for contests, you can apply for two Awards, one with your usual callsign and the other with your contest callsign. Of course for the first one you will use the QSL sent to your usual callsign, and for the second one, the QSL card received for your contest activities.
D. If I come to Italy, may I use the cards I receive for QSO's made in Italy for the Award?
R. No, but you can apply for another Award as I/yourcall.
D. Are QSL cards from San Marino, Vatican City and S.M.O.M. valid?
R. Yes, T7, HV and 1A are considered like italian territory, for WAIS Award.
D. If I get a QSL-card without Locator but with a QTH that has more than one WAIS square, which one have I to take for the Award?
R. That one you need. E.g. if you have 3 QSL-cards from Palermo without Locator, you can count 3 different squares among those indicated for Palermo.
D. Using the software, I insert the Locator and that I get is "Square not present in the table". What have I to do?
R. Unluckly many QSL-cards have a wrong Locator. All valid squares are in the table. Try with the place search to find the correct square.
D. May I send the updatings of my score via Internet?
R. Of course! Send them as attached-file. The file you have to send is that with extension RPT. Please re-name it as "yourcall.rpt" and send it to: IK2UVR
You can send all updatings you want, anytime, not only those to get the endorsement.
All endorsements will be sent to your QTH free.
